The End of the Tour

Well, we are now finished the last few shows of our tour and are headed home to Chapel Hill. This has been our biggest adventure with Birds and Arrows so far. Visiting new cities and towns and having the most interesting collection of shows along the way. Our last three in Tennessee were all crazy different. We found ourselves showing up at venues not knowing at all what to expect. In Memphis we played with a collection of singer songwriters at a college music dive bar with an amazing sound system. The stage was as big in size as most of the small clubs we had played so far on the tour. The sound guy Richard (aka Old Man Winter) was super sweet and supportive and did wonders with our sound. After the show, a couple of our new Memphis fans bought a ton of Merch and then insisted on giving us im promptu palm and tarot readings (without even knowing about Pete’s fame in the NOLA voodoo circut). Then we had to unload all our equipment past a vicious police dog in a car behind the club…pictured below. The next night in Nashville we played a dive bar called Springwater. Our set was sandwiched between two punk bands one of which was a family of punk rockers that had been at it since 1976….origionally known as The Pagans. We played our set as loud as we could hoping to match even half the volume of the others. People seemed to really dig it an over all, two pitchers of beer later, we had a great time.

The Last night of the tour was in Murfreesboro, TN where we played a community owned art center known as YEAH! This show couldn’t have been more different than our last two in that the place was adorable, clean, smoke free and full of underage kids. Before our show started they had a small kids rock showcase in which the band Pressure performed. They are a group of 11 year olds that played Nirvana and white stripes songs…..totally rocking out on Pete’s drums (pictured below)

So, that about sums it up. We drove collectively over 3,000 miles and are ready to be out of our Element (Honda). Thanks to all who may have read along with us during our adventure. Hope to see some of you soon once we are home and on a familiar stage. Appreciate the support as always, Andrea and Pete BIRDS and ARROWS Sent from my iPhone
